I’m an Assistant Professor of Rhetoric and Writing Studies at the University of Texas-El Paso, where I research and teach technical communication and professional writing. To me, research and teaching are both about making connections, and about threading conversations with diverse people, ideas, and methods.
My professional trajectory has been shaped by experiences learning English as a second language, and, perhaps even more emphatically, by teaching students who navigate linguistic transitions in their daily communication. These experiences continue to show me how my roles as a scholar, student, teacher, and human being are constantly shaped by my interactions with others.
